It’s exciting times here at Gains Network, and things are about to get even better. We have partnered with Immunefi to list bug bounties for our platforms. So what does this mean exactly?

Immunefi is a bug bounty platform focused on Web3 and smart contract security. The platform launched on December 9, 2020, and has since paid out $10M+ in bounties, has $110M+ in bounties available and has averted $20B+ in hack damage. Immunefi provides “bug bounty hosting, consultation, bug triaging, and program management services to blockchain and smart contract projects’’ (Immunefi). Basically, if you want to get something done related to bugs and security in Web3, Immunefi is your guy.

Immunefi defines their bug bounty program in the following way:

Bug bounty programs are open invitations to security researchers to discover and disclose potential vulnerabilities in projects’ smart contracts and applications, thereby protecting projects and their users. For their good work, security researchers receive a reward based on the severity of the vulnerability, as determined by the project affected” (Immunefi).

In 2021, crypto hacks and scams cost investors a whopping $14B dollars… Let that sink in for a moment. We have to uphold the integrity of our technology and contribute to the creation of a safer environment in Web3/DeFi.

At Gains Network, we always have our smart contracts undergo independent audits by Certik before updates. We believe that security is a top priority and that Immunefi bug bounties are one of the best investments we can make for the platform. Our bug bounty program will help surface any potential vulnerabilities, if they exist, before they get exploited in hacks. You can find the Gains Network bug bounties here.

Here is how the rewards breakdown for Gains Network bounties:

Rewards by Threat Level

Rewards are distributed according to the impact of the vulnerability based on the Immunefi Vulnerability Severity Classification System. This is a simplified 5-level scale, with separate scales for websites/apps, smart contracts and blockchains/DLTs (Distributed Ledger Technologies). The scale focuses on the impact of the vulnerability reported.

Smart Contracts

Critical Up to — 100,000 USD

High — 50,000 USD

Medium — 25,000 USD

Low — 10,000 USD

Websites and Applications

Critical — 50,000 USD

High — 25,000 USD

Medium — 12,500 USD

Low — 5,000 USD

All web/app bug reports must come with a proof of concept (PoC) with an end-effect impacting an asset-in-scope to be considered for reward. Explanations and statements are not accepted as PoC and code is required.

It is clear that at Gains Network, we are investing heavily in security for our products and we fully intend to continue doing so. It is important to ensure peace of mind for our traders and for our community down the line when we have more products. We see our Immunefi listing as opening a new chapter in our cybersecurity defenses. With this new chapter, we suspect the advent of a more secure and robust experience for our community in the near future.
